With the 2010 Ford Taurus now in the hands of new owners, some of the first runs down the drag strip are starting to hit the internet. The all wheel drive SHO is rated at 365 horsepower courtesy of Fords first twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 engine. A recently posted YouTube shows one owner taking the new SHO to New England Dragway in Epping, New Hampshire for a few passes down the 1320.

In the video, the silver SHO lines up against a Fox body Mustang and gives the Mustang a good run. The 2010 Taurus SHO runs an impressive 13.92 elapsed time at 100 mph, not bad for a 4000 pound sedan.

Who will be the first to start modifying the new SHO? We have seen a few Mustang tuner shops, even Hennessey Performance Engineering, claim to have tuning packages ready for Ford’s latest performance sedan. We think the direct injection system might throw a few PCM hackers for a loop. We wonder if Ford Racing will even offer updated parts for the SHO, they never offered anything for the earlier naturally aspirated versions.

With the Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3 modifications popular for other turbo makes, we hope some new tuner shops will tackle the new SHO.

In other Taurus SHO news, the pace car for this weekends Food City 250 and Sharpie 500 races at Bristol Motor Speedway will feature a 2010 Taurus SHO pace car. NASCAR pace car driver Brett Bodine will be at the wheel leading 42 amped up drives around the worlds fastest half mile track.
