Mark Utecht is an amateur rally driver from Minnesota and has been rallying his Mayhem Racing 1988 Mustang GT for several years. He entered Ford's 2010 Unleashed contest online, saying that his dream would be to compete in a rally event in a new Mustang. After a few months he was notified by Ford that he was the winner and the timing was perfect as Mark had rolled his 88 Mustang GT at a recent rally and needed a car to drive.

Ford teamed up with Livernois Performance for the Unleashed rally event and they prepped the 2010 Mustang that was previously used in a drag racing Unleashed event. Livernois prepped the car to meet the rules for the Rally-America series. The 10-second capable Mustang was converted over to a manual transmission along with numerous other rally modifications.
The unique Mustang was a big hit with the Rally American crowd and several cheered and rang cowbells when they encountered the Mustang driving the 15 stage event. The Mustang held up well over the weekend even after several ditch encounters.
Mark and the entire Mayhem Racing team came away impressed with the new Mustang and proud that they were able to bring home a Group 5 win in the Paul Bunyan’s Ride section of the rally.
