Trick Flow had several new heads on display at PRI. It's apparent that they have stepped up their race head offering for Ford and Chevy applications and at PRI they stressed their custom LSX and billet CNC Ford program to our editors.







Trick Flow Billet CNC Small Block Ford Head



For serious Ford small block builders, Trick Flow displayed their custom built billet SBF head. The billet head design starts as a 9 degree head that offers the straightest shot possible for the combustion mixture to reach the chamber. The heads are custom built to order and take a few weeks to produce. Intake port volume is offered as a huge 290, 295, or 300 cc port, large enough to support 1000hp naturally aspirated builds.

Intake valve options are 2.200” or 2.250” sized valves. Combustion chamber size is standard at 52cc with an option to go larger. Exhaust gasses exit through optional 1.590”, 1.600”, or 1.625” exhaust valves. Valve seats are offered in Beryllium copper or ductile iron, while the guides are Manganese bronze. The exhaust ports are standard at 150cc and are cut on Trick Flow’s CNC machine.







For the valvetrain, these heads can be ordered bare or with Trick Flow’s valvetrain components. Valve Springs are offered from 1.550” dual to 1.650” triple. Retainers are titanium and are held to the spring by either chrome moly steel or titanium locks. Custom offset rockers that are designed for this head are offered through T&D Machine and Jesel. The SBF billet head features a water jacket to keep the head as cool as possible during the run.
