Once a “far-fetched dream,” Vaughn Gitten Jr.'s Mustang RTR-C has become an award winning icon that crosses generations of auto-enthusiasts. Gitten's initial drive was simple: “...to build the most badass Ford Mustang streetcar...” This simple idea seems to have been executed beautifully.

According to Gitten on Speedhunters, this car has already been dubbed “The Best Mustang of SEMA” by Autoblog and is Speedhunter's runner up for the “2009 Demo Car of the Year” award.

Much like the standard version RTR, the RTR-C begins where Ford left off. Ford's stock Mustang GT is taken to Autosport Dynamics where everything is replaced with the highest quality true carbon fiber. The gratuitous amount of carbon fiber on this car reaches as far as the wheels. Unlike the standard RTR brand 19x9.5 wheels on the standard RTR, the RTR-C fashions similar sized HRE CF40 wheels up front that are actually made with a 100% carbon fiber hoop. The wheels in the rear are 20x11 HRE CF40s and give the RTR-C that ready-to-rock stance. Also upgraded on the “C” model are 6 and 4-piston Wilwood brakes in the fronts and rears respectively. Both the fronts and rears utilize 14-inch rotors.

Looks aside, only one thing separates the boy from the man - power. The standard RTR Mustang comes with a decent power package upgrade as well. The RTR-C pictured is equipped with a Ford Racing Superpack Supercharged 4.6-liter 3-valve motor. The current set-up puts down over 550-hp. “What trumps that,” you ask? The 650-hp supercharged 5.0-liter 4-valve production version of the RTR-C.

Gitten's main focus in conceptualizing the RTR-C was to create his own personal RTR Mustang. Once physically manifested as a drivable car, Gitten realized that the RTR-C was too big for him alone. It wouldn't be fair to keep the RTR-C from the rest of the world. Only 10 of these cars will be produced starting in April 2010 and will be sold for $135k each. More info at MustangRTR.com
