2010 is only in its second month, but already Ford is filling up its trophy case with a bevy of accolades from the automotive press. After sweeping the Detroit Auto Show and winning both the Best New Car (Fusion Hybrid) and Best New Truck (Transit Connect), the Blue Oval can add three more awards to its mantel.

At the end of the first week of the Chicago Auto Show, The Mustang News is reporting that Ford won the Best All-New Production Vehicle Award, as well as having the Best Exhibit at the show.

For Mustang fans though, the biggest win was came from the Shelby GT500. Of nearly 1,000 cars on the showroom floor, the GT500 managed to beat them all out for the “Car I’d Most Like To Have In My Driveway” award. It was a tight race and competition is, as always, fierce. But Ford has hit its stride lately and many of its current and upcoming cars have evoked very positive reactions from consumers and press alike.

The 2012 Focus, which Ford debuted at the Detroit Auto Show, helped the Blue Oval bring home the Best All-New Production Vehicle Award. The first entry into the “One Ford” global car building policy, the new Focus is sharp and will be offered in a premium “Titanium” trim that is enormously popular with Europe. And Ford has even more great cars in its lineup that should generate even more accolades. We can’t hardly wait.
