Last week we showed you the widebody 2012 Mustang Boss 302 built by Galpin Auto Sports, but it’s not the only Mustang that they will be displaying at the 2011 SEMA Show. The GAS team has also been busy building this widebody Shelby GT500 Super Snake, which we caught still under construction at their shop in Van Nuys, CA.
The one-off Super Snake features Galpin’s hand-made steel body panels, lightweight three-piece aluminum wheels with Super Snake center caps. Making the car all the more impressive is that the 5.4-liter V8 produces …

We’re used to seeing famous race car drivers lend their names to limited edition cars, but this might just be the first time we’ve seen one endorse an intake system. Airaid has just announced their new Parnelli Jones Carbon Fiber Intake System, designed specifically for the 2012 Mustang Boss 302. The intake features a massive 1300 cfm air filter using Airaid’s new blue SynthaMax non-oiled filtration system technology that is both washable and re-usable. Also included in the system is a 4.25-inch diameter intake tube constructed of real carbon fiber, …

A couple days ago we showed you a preview of the world’s first widebody Mustang Boss 302 designed by Steve Carpenter of Galpin Auto Sports. At the time the car, named the Boss 302-X, was still under construction and still needed some of the body panels and interior to be installed. Since then the GAS crew has been hard at work and has finished up the car just in time for its debut at SEMA.
So what makes the Galpin Mustang Boss 302-X so special? For starters, GAS has constructed the …

Just last month Roush announced a limited series of Stage 3 Mustangs called the “Hyper-Series”. The special edition model featured four different trim colors – “Mat It Mango”, “Gas It Green”, “Punch It Purple”, and “Launch It Lemon” – featured on both the exterior graphics and inside on the door panels, seats and shifter boot. Just 100 are scheduled to be built, 25 of each color.
Roush isn’t done unveiling limited edition Mustangs quite yet, though, as they have announced that a new Stage 3 Premier Special Edition Mustang will be …

The 2011 SEMA Show is just a few days away, and Ford has finally released a preview of the Mustangs that we can expect to see at their booth. One of the cars, built by Creations n’ Chrome, we previewed in detail yesterday, but the others we haven’t seen yet. It’s a classic car lover’s dream come true: Now it is possible to build a ’64½, ’65 or ’66 Mustang convertible from the wheels up using the all-new Ford-approved and officially licensed body shell.
The body shell for the original Mustang convertible, now in production and available for restorers as a Ford-licensed restoration part, gives classic car enthusiasts a new option in putting their classic dream Mustang ragtop back on the road.

Last year at SEMA Creations n’ Chrome burst onto the aftermarket scene with their “Pony Girl” 2011 Mustang Convertible featuring Passion Pink chrome paint, HRE wheels and 3d Carbon body kit. As we previewed back in July, the Southern California based company will be coming back to SEMA for another year, this time with a race-themed Mustang nicknamed “Boy Racer”. Perhaps our favorite part of SEMA is seeing what the talented Ring Brothers are bringing to the show. Last year we were lucky enough to see two of their creations, a 1966 Mustang race car and the 1970 Mustang “Dragon“. This year they’ll be bringing yet another Mustang, this time a 1965 Fastback nicknamed “Producer”. The car is clad in a custom body kit and BASF paint with the usual Ring Brothers billet accessories like hood pins, door handles and taillight bezels. Under the hood is a Keith Craft 351/427 …

Galpin Auto Sports has a long history of debuting impressive custom cars at SEMA, and this year looks to be no exception. Their latest project, which we caught still being built at their Van Nuys facility, is this widebody 2012 Mustang Boss 302 dubbed the Boss 302-X. The handmade steel widebody panels and custom orange paint are no doubt the first thing to catch your eye, but the car is just as impressive underneath the skin. A ProCharger supercharger system has been installed, and Galpin tells us that the 5.0-liter …

Put on by 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords magazine and sponsored by AmericanMuscle.com, the annual King of the Street competition pits some of the world’s fastest street-driven Mustangs against one another in a head-to-head competition. This year the event was held at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, KY during the NMRA World Finals, where each of the Mustangs was put through a battery of tests including drag racing, dyno testing, and, of course, driving on the street.
The nine contenders for this year’s competition ranged from supercharged and turbocharged 2011 …

Being an Eleanor owner/builder I understand how important it is to feel that your Eleanor looks the part. For me, being a bit of a perfectionist, I will try my hardest to have my car look as close the the movie car as possible. These vanity plates available now are a no-brainer then. Perfect for [...]

Mixing the classic styling of 1960s Mustangs with the current S197 platform is nothing new. Retrobuilt, a company out of Nixa, Missouri will even build them to order. So what’s so different about this particular retro-style Mustang? For starters, it was built solely by hand by a 23 year old who works at a body shop in Lincoln, Nebraska. The creator, John Heermann (known as Johnny Sparks around the shop), loves the design of the 1968 Mustang and decided to put that styling onto his own 2011 Mustang GT. After …
