This 1968 Shelby GT500 Convertible, lot #1016.2 and the third Mustang being offered tonight from the Ron Pratte Collection, is one of the most valuable Mustangs to be auctioned off at Barrett-Jackson today. Just 153 Shelby GT500 Convertibles were built in 1968 with the 4-speed manual, and this particular example has undergone an extensive restoration. With its Candy Apple Red paint and plethora of factory options, this classic Shelby commanded a final selling price of $220,000.
