2013 Ford Mustang

Ford has released its sales numbers for July, and while the Mustang couldn’t keep pace with the five-digit months of May and June, overall sales were still up from last year. Ford dealers managed to move 7,371 Mustangs off their lots in July, an 8.3 percent increase  compared to the 6,805 sales from July of 2011. In contrast, the Chevrolet Camaro managed 6,926 sales and the Dodge Challenger 3,631 sales, making the Ford  Mustang the pony car sales king for the third straight month. Mustang sales year-to-date remain significantly up compared to last year, 55,995 compared to 45,846, a 22.1 percent increase.

Overall Ford sales for July were slightly down compared to last year, down four percent, although retails sales up two percent. Several individual models did well including the Fusion, which had its best July ever with a 21 percent increase compared to 2011, the Explorer that had its best July since 2006, and the F-Series that posted a sales gain for the 12th month in a row.
