1966 Shelby GT350 SCCA B-Production Race Car

A near-million dollar 1965 Shelby GT350R was easily the top selling Mustang at this past weekend’s RM auction in Monterey, CA, but it wasn’t the only pony car from Ford up for grabs. Also crossing the block was this 1966 Shelby GT350 race car that competed in the SCCA’s B-Production class throughout the late 1960s and early 1970s, winning a 1967 N.E. Division Production BP championship in the process. The car features various modifications including a full SCCA legal roll cage by Holman & Moody, flared wheel wells, deeper, offset rear American Mag wheels, fully adjustable Koni shocks and more.

The car underwent a restoration just a few years ago, with the owner installing its correct B-Production V8 and painting the exterior in its 1967 Kneeland livery. Even so, the exterior is in an imperfect condition to say the least, making it a great candidate for fender-bumping vintage racing. We hope its new owner, who paid a final price of $159,500 at the auction, will use the Shelby race car to its full potential.
