Earlier this month we told you about an incredible 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 that would be going up for auction. A completely original and unrestored example, this amazing Boss 429 is a muscle car time capsule with just 902 miles on the odometer and the factory plastic wrapping over the seats and steering wheel. Mecum, who was selling the car, listed the pre-auction estimate at anywhere between $600,000 to $750,000, making it potentially the most expensive Boss 429 in the world.
So what did the car actually go for? After crossing the block the all original Boss 429 is going to its new home with a price tag of $550,000. It’s a huge sum, although still below the all time record of $605,000 paid for a Boss 429 at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale auction in 2007.
