2012 Shelby GT350

Earlier this month Shelby announced that they would be auctioning off the very first GT350 built for 2012 at Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas, and now the results are in. After crossing the block the blue convertible had found a new owner for the sum of $137,500.

Previously owned by Carroll Shelby himself, this particular GT350 was one of the actual cars that debuted at the Chicago Auto Show and was used for the company’s promotional materials. It boasts the optional 624 horsepower polished Whipple supercharger system as well as Shelby’s widebody package that allows for wider Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires at all four corners.

“We carefully documented the build of this car,” said Shelby American Vice President of Production Gary Davis. “Carroll was very excited about the new wide body option, so that was included on this car. It’s the first 2012 GT350 serial number from our anniversary year. It is a very special car.”
