Vaughn Gittin Jr. isn’t the new kid on the block anymore. He first debuted his RTR brand at SEMA in 2009, and unveiled the second generation car in 2012 with the introduction of the restyled 2013 Mustang. Now with the 2015 Mustang Gittin is set to reveal the next Mustang RTR at the SEMA show in Las Vegas next week. Not only will he show off the standard Mustang RTR in Spec 2 form, as we reported in August, but he will also be bringing a concept version dubbed the Spec 5.
Like the current generation car, the 2015 Mustang RTR will be available in two variants, the Spec 1 and Spec 2. The Spec 1 car will focus on the appearance of the car, while the Spec 2 will add various performance upgrades. The packages will be available on the EcoBoost, V6 and GT models and will be sold through Ford dealerships around the country.
As for the Spec 5 Concept Gittin hasn’t released too many details, but expect a hardcore version of his Mustang similar to the Spec 3 Mustang that was shown at SEMA in 2012. Gittin says that the “car will serve as a research and development tool” that will result “in a line of parts by RTR for the serious enthusiast.”
We’ll have more details and photos for you as part of our live SEMA coverage next week.
