Mustang Boss 302R qualifies 1-2 at Grand-Am opener in Daytona

The Ford Mustang Boss 302R started off the 2012 Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge season in the best way possible with the Roush Performance teams qualifying 1-2 at the season opener at Daytona Speedway. Roush Performance shows off Mustang Boss 302R race car with new 2013 bodywork

The Grand-Am season kicks off this week at Daytona, and we’ll be paying close attention to the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge to see if the Mustang Boss 302R can finally topple the BMWs. Mustang Boss 302R kicks off 2012 racing season with test days at Daytona Speedway

The 2012 Grand-Am racing season officially kicked off this weekend with the January test days at Daytona Speedway. Nearly a dozen Mustangs were in attendance, all scheduled to compete in the GS class of the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge. Many of the big names are back again for 2012, including Jack Roush Jr. and Billy Johnson of the No. 61 Roush Performance Mustang Boss 302R who finished a close second in the championship after earning six podium finishes and three wins.
