Ford Mustang sales continue to climb in 2013, with the March numbers the highest so far this year, but the figures still remain well behind those posted in 2012. Dealers managed to move 7,688 Mustangs off their lots in March, more than 1,500 sold in February, but it represented a 15 percent decrease compared to March a year ago when customers took delivery of 9,046 units. Ford has released the first batch of sales numbers for 2013 showing the results for the month of January, and things aren’t looking quite as rosy as they were last year. Dealerships managed to move just 3,608 Mustangs off their lots last month, a 3.4 percent decrease compared to the 3,736 sold during the same time last year. The number represents the lowest number of Mustang sales in a month for the last two years when just 3,165 were sold in January of 2011. This is in stark contrast to …

The Ford Mustang continued its positive sales momentum in 2012 with a total of 9,046 units sold in the month of March. The number signifies the Mustang’s best sales month since May of 2010 (10,225 sold) and is higher than any month’s sales figure in all of 2011. Ford’s Mustang sales in March represents a 23% increase compared to the previous month and a 5.7% increase compared to March of 2011. Overall Ford Mustang sales are up more than 30% compared to last year at this time, 20,133 versus 15,419.

Ford Mustang sales ended their five month skid with a slight rebound in December, but it wasn’t nearly enough to match the sales figures of 2010. Customers purchased 5,507 Mustangs off dealer lots last month, an increase of more than 23% compared to the 3,865 sales in November of 2011, but it still fell just short of the December 2010 sales of 5,452.
