March Ford Mustang sales highest in nearly two years

The Ford Mustang continued its positive sales momentum in 2012 with a total of 9,046 units sold in the month of March. The number signifies the Mustang’s best sales month since May of 2010 (10,225 sold) and is higher than any month’s sales figure in all of 2011. Ford’s Mustang sales in March represents a 23% increase compared to the previous month and a 5.7% increase compared to March of 2011. Overall Ford Mustang sales are up more than 30% compared to last year at this time, 20,133 versus 15,419.

Mustang sales skyrocket in February, surpass Camaro

The Ford Mustang started off 2012 in the right direction with sales up 18 percent in the month of January compared to the previous year (3,736 vs 3,165). That doesn’t hold a candle compared to February sales, though, with customers purchasing 7,351 Mustangs – the largest sales month for the Mustang for the last ten months. January 2011 Mustang sales up 18 percent compared to last year

2011 wasn’t a great year for Mustang sales, with Ford selling four percent less of their legendary pony car than in 2010. The start of the new year represents an opportunity to wipe the slate clean, though, and 2012 started off on a positive note with a total of 3,736 Mustangs sold in the month of January. Ford Mustang 2011 sales overview

Ford Mustang sales ended their five month skid with a slight rebound in December, but it wasn’t nearly enough to match the sales figures of 2010. Customers purchased 5,507 Mustangs off dealer lots last month, an increase of more than 23% compared to the 3,865 sales in November of 2011, but it still fell just short of the December 2010 sales of 5,452.
