Today Ford Racing Performance Parts announced that its TracKey calibration will be available for the 2013 Mustang Boss 302 starting on May 1st. In case you don’t remember, TracKey is a 50 state legal aftermarket engine performance software upgrade for the 2012 Boss 302 and Laguna Seca. Today at the SEMA Show Ford announced that the TracKey, which allows Mustang Boss 302 owners to choose between street or track powertrain calibrations by simply selecting a key, is now available for purchase at Ford dealers nationwide.

Ford will officially announce the availability of the TracKey at SEMA in just a few weeks, and while it seems like a given that most owners of the 2012 Mustang Boss 302 will want to purchase it from their authorized Ford Racing dealer, those who want to keep their full powertrain warranty will have a tough decision to make. After months of waiting, owners of the 2012 Mustang Boss 302 are finally close to getting their hands on the TracKey. The unique secondary key, available for purchase from authorized Ford Racing dealers, unlocks a secondary PCM module in the Boss 302 that changes more than 300 parameters including eliminating skip-shift, creating a lopey idle and allowing drivers to use a launch control program.
