Ford Racing has announced that they are now taking orders for the 2014 Mustang Boss 302S, the factory-built race car that is eligible to compete in a variety of SCCA and NASA classes. 2013 Mustang Boss 302S production underway

According to our sources at Ford Racing, production of the 2013 Mustang Boss 302S is now underway at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant with deliveries scheduled in time for next year’s race season. Just fifty are scheduled to be built – the same as 2012, with pricing listed at $85,000. Colors for the turn-key race car are limited to Performance White and School Bus Yellow.
The most obvious changes for the 2013 model year are the exterior design and graphics, which coincide with the updates to the road-going Mustang Boss 302 …

Today in SCCA World Challenge GTS competition, the Ford Mustang Boss 302 contingency staged a protest against the series by parking their cars in pit lane after the initial formation lap. The reason for the protest was actually two-fold. The primary reason for the protest was driven by high engine temperatures caused by the very small restrictor the Boss 302 GTS Mustang is required to run to reduce the horsepower of the Mustang.
